Knut Willich was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, and studied visual communication at the University of Wuppertal and the University of Applied Sciences, Münster. He worked as a lecturer for over thirty years at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, where he taught silkscreen, lithography, offset lithography, prepress techniques, and color management. In 1992 Willich established the print studio Atelier Limited in Münster, where he produced and published editions for many international artists. In 1997 he founded the Druckvereinigung (Print Association) Bentlage e.V. at Kloster Bentlage in Rheine. He has organized numerous events in Bentlage, including exhibitions, workshops, and residencies, as well as the first two symposia in 2009 and 2012. In 2012 Willich and Ann Aspinwall founded Aspinwall Editions, a fine art print publisher, dealer, and print studio in New York.
